The Karen Moeller Fun Run will be held Saturday, May 13, at VOA Park at 9:00 am. Proceeds benefit the Karen Moeller Scholarship Fund. Over $25,000 in scholarship money has been given to graduating seniors from Lakota East and Lakota West High Schools over the past 5 years. Thank you for your continued support.

Rising Junior and Seniors: the summer West Chester Hospital internship applications are available online as well as in room 264, Ms. Kemper’s room. The applications are due on April 25th.

There will be a meeting for all potential high school volleyball players (current 8th-11th graders) and their parents on Tuesday, April 25 at 7:00 PM in the Main Campus Diner.  Summer volleyball opportunities and tryout information will be discussed.  All information will be available online AFTER the meeting. 

Senior Surveys are live on your Naviance account and must be completed by Monday, May 1st at the very latest.  Completion of this survey is mandatory for all seniors!

There will be a yearbook meeting today after school in room 117. Please arrive as quickly as possible as the meeting has to end no later than 4:00.

Attention students interested in internships with the West Chester Township or Liberty Township, applications are due this week! The applications are available on the door of room 103 and please return to the front office. Thank you!

The Multicultural club will be meeting this Thursday, afterschool in room 222, to celebrate Jamaican Culture".

Would you like to represent the LW Firebirds at the Flying Pig? The Flying Pig has asked for Mascots from the area to take part in a MASCOT RACE! Let Mrs. Addington or Mrs. Henley in the Front Office know if you are interested.

Volunteer Opportunities

Reach Out Lakota is looking for volunteers to help carry donations from our outside sheds to our sorting area in the building. We’re looking for 4 helpers on Monday nights and have created an online sign up form at www.signupgenius.com. A link to the sign up is below.

We hope your students will take advantage of this opportunity to serve their community and appreciate your effort is sharing this information with service club leaders, government teachers, sports teams, etc.

Volunteers needed for Special Olympics events. Volunteers must be 16 years old

The Bowling Tournament will be April 29 @ Mason Bowl- Volunteers can work either one session or both sessions. Session 1- 8:30- 11:30 and Session 2 -11:30- 2:00.

Track Meet - May 6 – will be Tournament @ Lakota East High School 8:15-1:00. Volunteers will chaperone athletes to events, some will work events like timing, measuring etc.  All volunteers must be able to work the entire time 8:15-1:00.

Scholarship Opportunities

Ethics for Young People: Students of Integrity Scholarships $1,000 scholarships for post-secondary education for high school Juniors from The Center for Ethics at BBB. Resolve ethical dilemmas in essay format. It’s a tried and true statement: The students of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. That’s why it’s important to teach students how to make ethical decisions.

BBB’s Students of Integrity Scholarships encourage young people to resolve ethical dilemmas based on real-life scenarios in essay form. The incentive? Up to four $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually by an independent panel of judges to high school juniors who demonstrate mastery of ethics. Essays are due by June 2nd.
